Memories by pros

Leave the camera in the bag.

On group journeys, professional photographers travel with the group. They catch the laugh at the crater rim and the light on the volcano, so you can be in the moment instead of behind a screen. Every evening, the day's best photos land in the app.

  • Professionals travelling with your group take the photos.
  • A gallery in the app that fills up day by day.
  • Save the photos to your phone and share them with your group.

The trailer

Your trip, edited for you.

All the videos from your journey, pre-edited into a short trailer of your trip. It lands in the app at the end, ready to watch together and to send home.

  1. The pros film the moments along the way.
  2. The clips are pre-edited into one trailer.
  3. It arrives in Memories, ready to share.

Couples' night retreats

A night for two, under the stars.

Curated nights away for couples, with an audio companion for the evening: a fire, a blanket, the volcano going pink and then dark, and a gentle voice telling you what you're looking at when you want it.

Questions

Good to know.

Is it free?

The app is included with Local Friend Tour journeys. There is no price list, in the app or anywhere: every journey is designed for your group, so the proposal and its price are discussed with Allyson in the conversation.

Does it work offline?

Yes, for the essentials. Once it's on your home screen, the app opens without a connection, and you can save the audio tours for offline listening before you head into the Andes or the Amazon, where signal comes and goes. Chat and new photos catch up when you're back online.

Which languages?

English and Spanish. The audio tours come in both (play the Plaza Grande chapter above in each), and you can write to Allyson in either.

Do I need an app store?

No. For now the app is a web app: open localfriendtour.com/app/web on your phone and add it to your home screen (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android). It gets its own icon and opens full screen. No App Store or Google Play account needed.

Who takes the photos and makes the trailer?

On group journeys, professionals travel with the group and take the photos and videos, and the clips are pre-edited into your trailer. Travelling solo or as a couple? Ask Allyson what fits your journey.

Whose voice is on the audio tours?

A Local Friend Tour audio guide. The samples on this page are narrated by a generated voice. Allyson is the person on the other side of the chat.

Is the app ready?

It's a working concept: the web app on this page runs, installs and works offline, with sample content. Your journey itself is real today, and it starts the same way: with a request.

Talk to us

The app is a concept. The conversation is real.

Tell Allyson where, when and who. No commitment and no published prices; the proposal comes after the conversation. The photos, the trailer and the audio tours come with the journey.
